In her blog Pistols & Pollinators participant poet Jacqui Saphra shares with us her experience of collaboration as a creative process. Whilst finding that it can be liberating, she also acknowledges that
“there are the moments when you have to expose to another person those parts of the process that you normally protect. Those early stages when your ideas or feelings or thoughts emerge unclothed and utterly vulnerable, easily squashed or disfigured with rough handling”
Towards the end of Jacqui’s post we are teased with the story of an undisclosed phrase, a phrase that may or may not be the starting point of her collaboration with artist Gemma Cossey’s, but which most certainly remains a privileged secret between them.
